“Old London Bus” has been in operation since 2004 as a bus hire company.
The types of red London buses available, are classic and from an earlier age.
Built in 1940s and 50s and 60s, they are red, double deck and with an open back platform, no door, so a conductor is always on board for your safety.

● Crew in vintage uniform and a real London Transport ticket machine is provided on the old buses. You may order personalised bus tickets at extra cost. Passengers will be issued authentic London Transport original tickets by the conductor who normally will help with serving your guest drinks.

● Our buses are very comfortable, but do not have an on onboard toilet. Usually a period on board not exceeding 2 hours is comfortable, but of course organised stops for toilets or refreshment are always possible.

● Handicapped access is possible (a ramp is available upon request) but buggies and wheelchairs (must be collapsible) will take 2 seats each. Blue Badge guides with different language skills are available at extra cost.

● Drinking and eating on our buses is not a problem, plastic or paper drinking vessels must be used. No corkage is charged.

About us

Our company began as a dream.

Acquiring our first bus in 2000 as a passion, it was restored, made safe and Old London Bus Ltd was born. As demand grew so did our team and fleet, to preserve old London buses in service as moving history for hire.

The directors were determined that the best possible way to do this was to maintain the interior of their buses as original as possible, but clean and comfortable. But a smart outward appearance was necessary, within historical boundaries, to make them easily identifiable in films, photographs and on large screen or television. This has been maintained and as you read this the very oldest bus is being restored to original condition and when completed will be returned to public service.

The RT type is over 80 years old and to have any motorised vehicle continue the original intention of design, is quite a magnificent achievement by anyone’s standards.
